levels for reading

I feel I am on level 1 which is awareness. I currently sub at Wappingers and Poughkeepsie School Districts and have seen only what the teacher has left for me. It is clear that the students are aware and capable of using the computer, yet I am not sure if they are truly aware with all the different aspects a computer might have.
When I student taught, I had to post homework assignments each day online for parents to view. This allowed the teachers to know what their child was doing and also was a friendly reminder incase the student forgot to write down their assignments. I also brought the students to computer lab on some days. During computer lab, the students played games and learned how to use the keyboard.

Who I am as a teacher

After I answered the questions about myself, the results said that I am a Humanism. I was very surprised to see that. I did not think I was. I feel it is important to have group oriented educational system, yet the results say I do not! I feel students learn better within and out of groups. Children can help one another and make a concept clear if the teacher is not able too. Then again I do agree with the fact that children do need to learn with hands on activities. Hearing and applying the given material is a good way for students retain and keep learning the new information. I guess I do believe in some of the Humanism ideas, but not all of them.

Starting Blog!!!!

I was quite nervous to start a blog. I have never made one before. I also have never made my own personal website before this time. The outcome was pretty different than I had expected. I actually enjoyed making a website and deciding which blog to use. I like the idea of making my website because it allows me to change and add anything I feel at any given moment! I hope this continues to be fun and educational! I am looking forward to what else I will be learning.
